Safety & Responsibility Notice
What BRAKE controls. What it does not. Who decides.
It restricts access to selected supported apps. It does not shut down an AI model, AI provider, remote server, autonomous agent, external computer, or every possible AI process.
What BRAKE Means
When AI BRAKE indicates that BRAKE is active, that status refers only to the supported restriction state that AI BRAKE can observe and control within its supported device boundary.
It must not be interpreted as proof that:
- an external AI system has stopped computing;
- previously initiated external actions have been cancelled;
- every AI-related process has stopped;
- external servers are inactive;
- other devices are protected;
- no other access path exists.
Human Authority
BRAKE activation is initiated by the user.
Restoration of access is also a user decision.
AI BRAKE is designed around this principle:
AI may assist. The human keeps the power to stop and return.
User Responsibility
Before relying on BRAKE, users should understand what AI BRAKE controls and what remains outside its control.
Users remain responsible for:
- deciding which apps to select;
- deciding when BRAKE is appropriate;
- understanding the consequences of restricting access;
- maintaining other safeguards appropriate to their situation;
- confirming important real-world actions separately when necessary.
Responsibility Map
Third-Party Responsibility
NextBase is responsible for AI BRAKE within the scope of functionality it provides.
NextBase is not responsible for the design, output, decisions, availability, security, or behavior of third-party AI providers or their services.
No Universal Kill-Switch Claim
AI BRAKE is not presented as a universal AI kill switch.
It does not claim to stop every AI system, every agent, or every form of automated activity.
Platform Changes
Operating-system changes, permission changes, device configuration, removal of authorization, or other platform behavior may change what AI BRAKE can enforce.
High-Risk Uses
Do not use AI BRAKE as the sole control mechanism for systems where failure could result in death, physical injury, major financial loss, infrastructure damage, or other severe consequences.
